The European Commission is publishing six calls for proposals to support cinema and audiovisual media for 2023, a first batch to be completed in the coming months.
With a total budget of over €180 million in grants for 2023, Creative Europe’s MEDIA strand will continue to promote cross-border cooperation to upgrade audiovisual producers and strengthen the competitiveness of the European audiovisual industry at European and global level. Funding opportunities will support the development, distribution and promotion of European projects, while promoting innovation in the digital environment.
The first calls will support the development of European projects, including films, series, video games and immersive content, their distribution in both cinemas and online platforms, as well as audience development. Interested organizations can find more information at the links below and start submitting proposals on 20 October.
- TV and online content: provides opportunities for independent producers to take the initiative and move forward with their own original productions.
- Innovative tools and business model: improving the visibility and availability of European projects and increasing the audience in the digital environment.
- European slate development: incentives for production companies to build a portfolio of 3-5 projects, thus increasing creative options and favoring quality.
- Video Games and Immersive content development: increasing the capacity of European video game producers, augmented reality (XR) studios and audiovisual production companies to develop video games and interactive immersive experiences.
- Films on the Move: increasing the circulation of European works and broadening their pan-European audience by supporting the cinema and online distribution of non-national European films.
- Audience Development and Film Education: stimulating the interest of the public, especially young people, in European films and audiovisual works.
Stay tuned, more funding opportunities will be announced in the coming months!
