These three new programs EIT Health startups, are given the opportunity to receive funding, training, consulting & networking opportunities in the healthcare sector.
Those interested can acquire new skills, connect with a huge network of experts, gain access to new markets, funding and investors, while at the same time they will strengthen their effort to shape the future of healthcare in Europe.
EIT Health Catapult
Acceleration program for small startups and spinoffs. The best startups will present at Bits & Pretzels HealthTech and compete for the prize of €30,000 (in the form of an investment prize). In addition, the startup that receives the audience award will be presented at the Nasdaq Tower in New York. The program can connect businesses with leading healthcare companies and investors.
Basic conditions for participation are that the company (which has already been established), has a staff of up to 50 employees, deals with issues of high innovation and business value in the field of life sciences, is looking for seed funding (series A) of at least €500,000, is valued its value at €1M+ and has received at least €500,000 from public or private funding or has generated revenue of at least €500,000 in the previous year.

EIT Health Bridgehead
This is an acceleration program that helps startups grow and quickly enter new markets and/or networks. Bridgehead connects European healthcare entrepreneurs looking to grow their business beyond their home market with the world’s leading start-up incubators and accelerators that have the expertise and resources to help substantially.
Basic conditions for participation are that the company is established and active in a European country, has a staff of up to 250 employees and has an innovative service or product in the field of digital health, biotechnology or pharmaceutical technology.

Wild Card
Is focused on startups, but also researchers, innovators who wish to improve the health of patients and citizens of Europe. This year’s challenge is to improve children’s health care.
Together with Hospital Sant Joan de Deu (SJD) and the i4KIDS Innovation Hub, the Wild Card program seeks to accelerate innovation solutions for early childhood, chronic and rare diseases with the aim of making a real impact on improving children’s lives .
The Wild Card provides world-class training and mentoring, membership of an international team with the best in the field, and the opportunity to build a company that can receive up to €1,5 million in investment.
A basic condition is that the company faces an unsolved problem related to children’s health, has 2 to 5 founders (of which at least 2 participate in the program), operates in a Horizon Europe country and has a TRL readiness level 3-6.

It is reported that the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) is part of the 3rd Pillar of the European Union (EU) Framework Program for Research and Innovation, “Horizon Europe”. It aims to strengthen the links between the actors of the innovation ecosystem (knowledge triangle) and the development of entrepreneurship and innovation skills in the priority areas of the respective knowledge and innovation communities (Knowledge and Innovation Communities-KICs).
