The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) invites interested researchers, who are interested in participating in visits to Primary and Secondary schools, to declare their interest within the framework of the “Researchers in Schools” Programme.
The main objective of the Programme, which was successfully implemented for the first time during the 2022-2023 school year, is to increase the contact and interaction of students and teachers with researchers from all research fields in Cyprus, strengthening the interest of students for the fields of science, research and innovation.
It is also encouraged that the content of the presentations/demonstrations by the researchers highlights the EU’s strategic priorities for addressing key challenges such as climate change and sustainable development and the (EU Missions), which are the following:
- Cancer
- Adaptation to Climate Change including Societal Transformation
- Healthy Oceans, Seas, Coastal, and Inland Waters
- Climate-neutral and Smart Cities
- Soil Health and Food
Schedule of Visits
The visits of the school year 2024-2025 will take place in the following weeks on the occasion of the corresponding World Days:
- World Food Day – 16 October 2024
(Visiting Period: October 14-18, 2024)
- World Cities Day – 31 October 2024
(Visiting Period: October 29-November 1, 2024)
- World Cancer Day – 4 February 2025
(Visiting Period: February 3-7, 2025)
- World Earth Day– 22 April 2025
(Visiting Period: April 28-May 2, 2025)
- World Oceans Day– 8 June 2025
(Visiting Period: June 2-6, 2025)
Interested researchers who wish to participate in the “Researchers in Schools” Programme are requested to declare their availability here until September 8, 2024.
