The Agriculture Development Programme 2014-2020 is the main agricultural policy instrument for the development of primary production and the Cypriot countryside. It consists of a series of measures that aim at the strengthening of the competitiveness of agriculture, the ensured sustainable management of natural resources and the achievement of a balanced territorial development, including job creation.
The aim of Measure 7 and Intervention 4.4 is to develop the rural areas, by preserving and highlighting the natural and cultural wealth of rural areas, promote environmental and socioeconomic sustainability, upgrade the man-made environment of villages, encourage agrotourism, promote infrastructure that will house basic services, and improve the quality of life of residents in rural areas through developing public infrastructure projects. The projects that will be approved for funding will be incorporated in the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which ends on 31st December 2025, and will continue as phasing projects through the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy 2023-2027.
The eligible categories of projects are the following:
The proposals submitted must have a budget between €500.000 – €4.000.000 (incl. VAT).
The projects must be fully prepared for development, that is, all necessary licenses must be issued, all the necessary studies and plans (architectural, construction, electromechanical) must be completed, as well as a Priced Bill of Quantities and the Tender Documents.
Contribution of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development 53% και State contribution / CAPO 47% of the eligible budget of the project (the percentage of contribution of the Local Authority is not eligible for co-funding).
