The overall objective of the Justice programme is to help create a European area of justice, based on mutual trust.
This is a call for EU action grants to support transnational projects to enhance the rights of persons suspected or accused of crime and the rights of victims of crime under the Justice Programme (JUST).
The main objectives of this Call are to facilitate effective and non-discriminatory access to justice for all, and effective redress, including by electronic means, by promoting efficient civil, and criminal procedures, by promoting and supporting the rights of all victims of crime as well as the procedural rights of suspects and accused persons in criminal proceedings. Additionally, the call is aiming to contribute to the effective and coherent application of EU criminal law in the area of the rights of persons suspected or accused of crime as well as to contribute to the effective and coherent application of EU law in the area of the rights of victims of crime in line with the EU Strategy on victims’ rights (2020-2025).
The project should cover one or several of the following activities:
All activities shall incorporate a gender perspective covering issues in all areas, including the communication, exchange of information, collection of data disaggregated by sex, capacity building of legal professionals on gender equality aspects in cases and legal trials.
Projects should normally range between 12 and 24 months (extensions are possible, if duly justified and through an amendment).
The funding rate is 90% and the indirect cost flat-rate is 7% of the eligible direct costs.
