The Fund will contribute to reach a high level of security in the EU, in particular by preventing and combating terrorism, radicalisation, serious and organised crime and cybercrime, by assisting and protecting victims of crime, and by preparing for, protecting against and effectively managing security-related incidents, risks and crises.
This topic supports Common Operational Partnerships with competent authorities of Turkey as target country, considering the importance of combatting migrant smuggling in Turkey in relation to the Eastern Mediterranean route and the Silk route towards the EU.
Projects must be aiming to achieve one or more of the following outcomes related to the prevention and fight against organised criminal networks engaged in migrant smuggling, without duplicating existing projects or structures:
