“Large-scale” projects are projects with a capital expenditure of over € 7.5 million.
“Small scale” projects are projects with a total capital cost of less than € 7.5 million.

Summary
The present call targets projects on low-carbon technologies and processes in all sectors covered by Directive 2003/87/EC (the EU ETS Directive).
The objectives of this call are to:
- support projects demonstrating highly innovative technologies, processes, business models or products/services, that are sufficiently mature and have a significant potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions;
- offer financial support tailored to market needs and risk profiles of eligible projects, while attracting additional public and private resources.
Detailed Call Description
The activities that can be funded under this call are:
- activities that support innovation in low-carbon technologies and processes in sectors listed in Annex I to the ETS Directive, including environmentally-safe carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) that contributes substantially to mitigating climate change, as well as substitute products;
- activities that help stimulate the construction and operation of projects that aim at the environmentally-safe capture and geological storage of CO2 (CCS);
- activities that help stimulate the construction and operation of innovative renewable energy and energy storage technologies.

Only projects with a total capital expenditure between €2 500 000 and €7 500 000 are eligible under this call.
The grants will be provided as lump sums. In addition, project development assistance (PDA) will be provided in the form of services to some projects by the European Investment Bank.
