The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces the start of the Second Announcement of the Protective Equipment Grant Scheme for the Period 2023 – today, Wednesday, at 12:00pm.
Applications will be accepted until 01/03/2023 at 12pm. online on the website www.motosafety.gov.cy and concern the Motorcyclist Body Vest grant with a grant amount of up to €500 including VAT.
The Plan is for three years (2022-2024), with a total budget of €1,050,000 for 3 years (€350,000 per year) and in 2022 it was successfully implemented after more than 1700 interested parties submitted an application to purchase a Motorcyclist Airbag.
For the purchase of body airbag-type protective equipment for motorcyclists, the subsidy amount is €500 or the actual purchase cost, whichever is lower. The amount of the subsidy will be calculated based on the purchase price including VAT. It is noted that the grant does not concern the purchase of services, and the purchase cost does not cover subscriptions for the purchase of protective equipment or the securing of protective equipment through leasing.
Applications will be accepted online only through the online platform www.motosafety.gov.cy, by entering your ID number, date of birth, vehicle registration number, mobile phone number and email address.
Applications will be reviewed on the basis of the Scheme’s criteria and those that meet the requirements will be sorted into applications for approval. In the event that interest exceeds the predetermined number of applications, an electronic lottery will be held, and applicants will be notified of pre-approval electronically (via email) or by text message (sms) or by post.
Applicants who receive pre-approval will be given a period of one month from the date of pre-approval to submit supporting documents for the purchase of equipment and payment account details for payment of the sponsorship. Applicants who secure pre-approval but do not make a purchase or submit the necessary information and documents within the specified time frames will not receive the subsidy.
