Horizon Europe is the European Union (EU) funding programme for the period 2021 – 2027, which targets the sectors of research and innovation. The programme’s budget is around € 95.5 billion, of which € 5.4 billion is from NextGenerationEU to stimulate recovery and strengthen the EU’s resilience in the future, and € 4.5 billion is additional aid.
Proposals under this Call are expected to develop technologies and systems that significantly enhance the cognitive ability of robots from the current state of the art to achieve greater levels of interaction and autonomy.
Proposals will address as appropriate the following:
Proposals should make use of connections to the Digital Innovation Hub networks, particularly those in Robotics, Data and AI.
Two types of proposals are expected, either focusing on higher level of autonomy, expecting less reliance on human supervision, or focusing on human-machine collaboration:
1. The first type of proposals will further develop the level of autonomy (p.235 of the work programme)
2. The second type of proposals will further develop and integrate physical human-robot interaction. (p.235 of the work programme)
