Scheme for the Enhancement of SMEs competitiveness in the Manufacturing Sector and other specific Economic Activities

Summary

The Scheme’s main objective is to support, develop and promote the SMEs in the manufacturing sector and other specific economic activities that are established or to be established in areas controlled by the Cyprus Government.

The main objectives are: 

• Expansion of existing business through investments that will improve the technological level, the production process and the productivity.
• The creation of new units and reinforcement of entrepreneurship.
• The creation of new jobs positions.

Detailed Call Description

The Scheme is adjusted and will be implemented under Regulation (EC) No. 1407/2013 of the Commission of 18 December 2013 based on Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid. Beneficiaries:  A. New or existing SMEs in the manufacturing sector that are established or to be established in areas controlled by the Cyprus Government. Manufacturing activities are the activities listed in Section C, included in the Statistical Codes of Economic Activities, 2008 (based on the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community, NACE Rev. 2). B. New or existing SMEs operating in other specific economic activities as shown in section 6 of the Scheme’s Guide. The following activities are not eligible for the purpose of the Scheme: • Business activities related to primary production, processing and marketing of agricultural products as listed in Annex I of the Treaty on European Union. • Activities related to fisheries and aquaculture.
  • The minimum proposed investment (eligible costs) is set to €10.000.
  • The grant is given as a percentage on the entire eligible investment (60%).
  • The total amount of de minimis aid granted to a single undertaking shall not exceed €200.000 over any period of three (3) fiscal years.
