Funding through CERV programme aims at protecting rights and values enshrined in the EU treaties in order to sustain open, democratic and inclusive societies.
This measure aims at supporting projects bringing together a wide range of partner towns in a town-twinning event around topics in line with the objectives of the Programme and taking into consideration the policy priorities. This measure will seek to promote civic participation in the Union policy making process and develop opportunities for societal engagement and volunteering at Union level.
Objectives
The scope will be related on raising awareness on the richness of the cultural and linguistic environment in Europe as well as raising awareness of the importance of reinforcing the European integration process based on solidarity. Additionally, the topic focuses on fostering a sense of belonging to Europe by promoting the debate on the future of Europe and on the reflection of the the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has on the local communities.
Twinning must be understood in largo sensu, thus referring to the municipalities which signed or are engaged to sign twinning agreements as well as to the municipalities having other forms of partnerships fostering their cooperation and cultural links.
