The overall objective of the Justice programme is to help create a European area of ​​justice, based on mutual trust.

Programme Description

In particular, the programme aims to promote judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, to assist in the training of judges, prosecutors and other legal professionals, and to support EU action in the fight against drugs. Union law in the field of civil and criminal law covers a wide range, from contract law and insolvency to procedural rights and the rights of victims. The programme supports the Commission ‘s efforts to create a pan – European area of ​​justice and rights, with an emphasis on value – added activities at European level. The Justice programme is a continuation of the following three programmes: Civil Justice, Criminal Justice and Drug Prevention, and Information Programmes (Civil Justice, Criminal Justice and Drug Prevention and Information Programmes). The Justice Programme will enhance their effective and consistent implementation, and ensure access to justice for citizens and businesses in Europe.
